ABOUT ME
I’ve already mentioned that my name is Shereen but perhaps you want to know a little about me so I thought that I'd share the journey of how I got here....

I have previously worked in various roles but I always felt that I wasn’t doing what I was supposed to be doing. I knew that somehow I wanted to be of service to others but the problem was that I didn’t yet know what that looked like.
You may have heard about the concept of a “light bulb moment”, well this is exactly what happened to me when I realised that my vocation was to be a Counsellor. There I was in a conversation with someone who was telling me about their counselling experience and it hit me. I just knew - that was what I was supposed to do! I did my research, found a course and was on my way.
It was an eye opening experience and taught me invaluable lessons about myself, society and about the world. It was hard work but worth every moment!
At the end of it all, I had an Advanced Diploma in Counselling but that isn’t where it ends. I am committed to both my personal and professional development and have attended several other courses to enhance my knowledge and skills such as:
-
Working with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and Complex Trauma
-
Working with Repressed or False Memories due to extreme Trauma
-
Working with Dissociative Identity Disorder
-
Working with Adult Survivors of Sexual Abuse
-
ASIST (Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training)
I am dedicated and will continue learning, not only for my own growth but so that I can be the best therapist I can for my clients.

Well, whoever said it, it's true and I love the sentiment!
